PUBLIC EDUCATION EVENTS
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) core training is a dynamic and engaging eight (8) week course where participants can learn life-saving skills, preparedness and more. Each class is approximately two and a half (2.5) hours. Pre-registration is required.
Community classes will resume in 2020.
Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a critical life skill that can assist the average citizen to save someone's life. The SMCFD Office of Emergency Services offers classes to residents of (or individuals who work in) Belmont, Foster City and San Mateo. This course includes training on adult/child CPR, choking, and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). There is a class fee per person. The schedule for these classes is as follows:

First Aid classes are offered by the SMCFD Office of Emergency Services and can be useful in a variety of every-day situations. There is a class fee per person and is offered to residents of (or individuals who work in) Belmont, Foster City, & San Mateo.

Get Ready! classes are designed to help citizens prepare for any scale of emergency. Get Ready! classes are free to residents of (or individuals who work in) Belmont, Foster City, & San Mateo, and are offered to community groups by appointment and periodically throughout the year.
